If you’ve lost a text message, there are a few different ways to get it back. For example, if you know when the message was sent or received but need to know who sent or received it (or both), then I recommend using Apple’s Find My iPhone app. It’ll show you when your phone last connected to a Wi-Fi network and let you see any recent locations where it might have been (provided that GPS tracking is enabled). The timeline will also show any deleted messages within the past 24 hours.

To recover deleted text messages, open Settings, then tap General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings. If asked for your restrictions passcode, enter it. If this is your first time using this feature, it will not have a passcode.

After you complete these steps, your device will be restored to its factory settings, and all content on the device will be erased.

After your iPhone restarts and displays the “Hello” screen, you’ll see a message saying that your phone cannot be activated. This is normal. You can skip this step by tapping on “Set Up Manually.”

Once your device restarts, you’ll see a message saying your phone cannot be activated. This is normal; the activation was failing because of the missing Home screen and lock screen files, but it means you’ll need to set up your iPhone manually.

You can skip this step by tapping on “Set Up Manually.” This will allow you to set up your phone as new or restore it from another backup if needed.

Then go to Wi-Fi settings and access a Wi-Fi network. You don’t need to enter a password or be connected to the Internet to restore your texts from the Backup.

First, go to Settings. Then select General. Next, select Reset. Finally, choose to Erase All Content and Settings.

Tap Restore from iCloud Backup when prompted by the popup message on your iPhone.

On the apps & data screen, tap Restore from iCloud Backup, then sign in to iCloud. You’ll be shown a list of available backups to restore from — choose the most recent one that was created before you lost your text messages and tap Restore.

To restore your text messages from a previous backup, you’ll need to:

Wait to disconnect your iPhone until the restore process has finished. Once done, you can set up your phone as new or restore it from another backup if needed.

Once you’ve deleted your text message history and finished the restore process, wait to disconnect your iPhone from iTunes until the restore is complete. Once it is, you can set up your phone as new or restore it from another backup if needed. This can save you time and effort.

To recover deleted text messages on an iPhone, open Settings -> General -> Reset -> Erase All Content And Settings -> Setup As New Phone Or Keep Existing Backup Photos.

In this guide, I’ll show you how to recover deleted text messages on an iPhone. This works for any Apple device, so the same steps apply if you have an iPad or Mac.
